TRAVEL · THE TOOLKIT
The Sundrop Family Travel Toolkit
From "we should take a trip" to a plan you can actually book and pay for, without turning yourself into a full-time travel researcher. For theme parks, cruises, resorts, road trips and family vacations of all kinds.
- One budget
- One savings plan
- Cruise Companion included
$27
Who it's for
Families planning a vacation who want to choose well, know the real cost before booking, and keep every booking, payment and deadline in one place. You don't need to know where you're going yet.
By the end, you'll have
- A trip that fits your family, chosen from a short list with a scorecard you filled in yourself.
- A realistic total trip cost, including a cushion for the extras, and the gap still to save.
- A weekly and monthly savings target, and a clear YES / CHANGE IT / NOT YET / NO decision.
- One record of every booking, payment, cancellation deadline and travel document.
- A preparation timeline and a family packing checklist for the weeks before you leave.
Paper or spreadsheet? Use whichever you'll keep up with. The printed pages and the spreadsheets use the same cost lines and the same savings method, so you can switch at any point without starting over.
How the resources work together
Choose
Dream Trip Done takes you from the first idea to a shortlist of three, then a decision. It tells you when to reach for each of the other resources.
Afford
From Paycheck to Passport builds the real trip number, finds the gap and turns it into a savings plan. The Trip Cost + Savings Calculator does the same math for you in a spreadsheet.
Book & track
The Family Travel Booking Dashboard keeps bookings, payments, deadlines, the itinerary and documents in one file.
Get ready
Dream Trip Done's preparation timeline, documents guide and packing checklist get everyone out the door. The same timeline is in the Dashboard.
Planning a cruise? The included Cruise Companion (Resource 5) helps you choose the right cruise and account for cruise-specific costs using the same travel budget.
Look inside
Real pages from the toolkit. The worksheets come with filled examples from fictional families, so you can see what a finished page looks like before you start.

What's included
- 1Dream Trip DoneThe main guide. Define the trip, have the family-fit conversation, shortlist three options, compare them fairly with a decision scorecard, book in the right order, check documents, pack by system and use one preparation timeline. Ends with a one-page "Your Trip at a Glance" dashboard.
- 2From Paycheck to PassportThe money workbook. Build the real trip number, find the gap, turn it into a weekly and monthly savings target, cut costs without cutting the experience, plan booking cash flow and make the YES / CHANGE IT / NOT YET / NO decision.

- 4Family Travel Booking DashboardAn editable spreadsheet for bookings, a payment calendar, the day-by-day itinerary, documents and contacts, and the pre-trip checklist.
- 5Cruise CompanionOptional, for families with a cruise on the shortlist. Match a cruise line to your family, check the ship, itinerary and cabin, understand what the fare doesn't cover, and compare up to three sailings by their real total cost. Included in the toolkit price.

- 2 editable spreadsheets
- Works in Excel or Google Sheets
Honest expectations
What it does
Gives you an order to make decisions in, and one place to keep the numbers, so planning a trip feels manageable instead of endless.
What it doesn't do
It isn't a destination guide and doesn't book anything for you. It won't promise that every trip is affordable; sometimes the honest answer is "not yet", and the workbook helps you plan for that too.
About travel rules
ID, passport and cruise document rules change and depend on your trip. The guides explain the basics and point you to official sources and your cruise line to confirm what applies to you.
Questions
Do we need to know where we're going?
No. Dream Trip Done starts before you've picked a destination and helps you narrow it down to one.
We're not planning a cruise. Is the toolkit still useful?
Yes. Four of the five resources work for any kind of trip. The Cruise Companion is only needed if a cruise is on your shortlist.
What do I receive?
One ZIP download containing three PDFs (Dream Trip Done, From Paycheck to Passport and the Cruise Companion, 83 pages in all) and two spreadsheets (the Trip Cost + Savings Calculator and the Family Travel Booking Dashboard).
Do I have to use the spreadsheets?
No. Everything can be done on the printed pages. The spreadsheets do the same math automatically if you'd rather type than write.
